• The dishwasher door has not been shut properly. The door won’t close • The lock was released. Strongly push the door until a “clacking” noise is heard. No water drains out from the dishwasher. • The dishwasher cycle has not yet finished. • The water inlet hose is bent. • The drain duct is blocked.
If your dishwasher won’t start, the problem could be the door latch or door latch switches. The door latch assembly is used to hold the door closed during the cycle to prevent water from leaking and it also incorporates the door latch switches that supply power to the dishwasher controls. If the door cannot close properly to activate the door latch switches or if the switches are defective, then the dishwasher controls will not receive power and the dishwasher will not start.
If the dishwasher stops during a cycle, first try these simple troubleshooting steps: Open and close the door to make sure it's latched. Check whether the house circuit for the dishwasher and reset the breaker if it's tripped. If a light switch on the wall near the dishwasher controls power to the dishwasher, make sure it's in the On position.
